What a fine weekend it was for RidgeValley Volleyball’s U-14 “Black” team at the Puget Sound Regional Championships.
The Snoqualmie-based team went 9-0 and won the 14’s “Turquoise” division title at the championships yesterday, held at the Lair Courts facility in Renton. RVVB beat the top-seed Uprising team in the semifinals, then took care of Bothell-based Northshore Juniors in the finals in three sets in the best-of-three match to win it all.

RidgeValley 14 Black went undefeated this weekend at Puget Sound Region’s Junior Regional Championship in the Turquoise Division. RidgeValley came into the weekend ranked 10th in a 23-team field determined by their performance in Power League competition throughout the season. They finished the first round of pool play in first place and moved into the Gold division of the tournament. During the last match on Saturday, RidgeValley staged an impressive comeback after dropping set one to Whatcom Impact VBC. The team found themselves facing match point down 16-24. Outside hitter Mya Stewart stepped back to serve and had a string of aces and tough serves that brought RidgeValley back to win set two 28-26, after which they prevailed in set three with a score of 15-5.
