It’s Wednesday and that means we bring you another look today at local girls’ club volleyball here in the Snoqualmie Valley Sports Journal, as we keep tabs on what’s going on in the USA Volleyball’s Puget Sound Region, and tell you how local clubs – and their Valley players – are faring.

We start this week with a look at this past weekend’s Puget Sound Regional Championships for the U-12 to U-14 age groups. On Monday we featured for you the news that Snoqualmie-based RidgeValley’s U-14 team took home a title in their division, the “Turquoise” division, after going unbeaten on the weekend at 9-0. It has been a great season for this particular team, and this past weekend was a nice cherry on the cake for the girls and their coaches, many of whom reside in our community.

Among the wins in their string included a pair over the Uprising squad from Snohomish County – including in the semis – along with a couple over Bellevue-based Northwest Juniors, which has on their rosters a large number of players who will be, if they aren’t already, playing for Kingco schools at the high school level, so these local girls got perhaps a taste of some of the competition they’ll perhaps be facing in a couple of years as Mount Si Wildcats.

But, as we just mentioned, it was a special season for this group. This Ridge Valley team was one of the highlights of the Power League season among the local groups. They started the season being seeded far down the board, 88th overall, but finished the season 15-7 and saw that ranking rise as the season went on to 73rd. Still, not among the most elite clubs in the area, but even so, they had a strong season and with most of the players being from the Valley and soon-to-be freshmen at Mount Si, Wildcat fans should perhaps be excited about the future a bit as there looks to be a number of kids that will definitely be ready to go for high school ball under head coach Bonnie Foote and her staff soon.   READ ARTICLE...
