I am from Arlington, WA and have been playing volleyball for 10 years. I have played for my middle school and high school teams as well as in clubs such as Smokey Point Vipers and more recently WVBA. During those years I was introduced to GMS training and created a strong foundation that helped me in becoming a collegiate athlete at Northwest University where I play as a DS/Libero. This will be my first year co-coaching with RidgeValley with Hailee Derr. I have an affinity for people, volleyball, dad jokes, and coffee. Psalms 118:24.
Hello! I’m Sydney Rypien and I am so excited to be assistant coaching your girls! I am a freshman in college and have played volleyball since I was nine, so that makes this year my tenth year! I have been fortunate enough to continue my athletic career and play on a scholarship for Bellevue College Volleyball this season where we took second in the NWAC tournament, and first in the North. I absolutely love the game and have played every position over the past ten years, and have coached in the evergreen region for two years before this for Rivals Volleyball club where I was a second assistant coach for their U16’s team. My goal is to help the girls I coach absolutely fall in love with the sport like I did, while gaining valuable volleyball knowledge and improving their overall game while having fun!

He is both excited and thrilled for this opportunity and new challenge. Aside from coaching athletics, Coach Lew attends the University of Washington where he is pursuing a degree in communications and works in the video department for the football team. We are excited to have Daniel join our RV team.
Kami Smith has played volleyball since she was in the fifth grade, and is currently a junior in high school. Due to a knee injury, she was unable to play this club season, and decided to coach instead. She is a setter / defensive specialist, a two time team MVP on her club team, and was named team captain. Her main goals for the season are for all of the girls to improve in every aspect of the game, to have fun, and to want to continue to play the game.
